Horsegirl Announces Sophomore Album “Phonetics On And On”, Releases Debut Single “2468” With Music Video: Watch

Chicago indie rock trio Horsegirl shared the single 2468 with a music video to streaming platforms and social media on Tuesday November 19th, 2024. The new single is the first from a newly announced eleven track album titled Phonetics On and On which is set to release on February 14th, 2025 through Matador Records. The music video for 2468, was directed and edited by Eliza Barry Callahan and posted to the bands YouTube early on Tuesday.

2468 carries the listener through to what is at its core a brilliantly crafted and stripped down indie pop song that is sure to be an ear-worm on your next playlist. Phonetics On and On was recorded in Chicago in January during a cold snap with no heat on to avoid interference. The trio worked closely with producer Cate Le Bon who is known for work with Deerhunter, Wilco, Kurt Vile and more.

The new album is available for pre-order as a release on valentines day in an audiophile black or crystal clear vinyl here. Horsegirl last released their debut album Versions of Modern Performance in June of 2022. The indie rock trio will be performing in Chicago on February 22nd, 2025 with additional dates scheduled in the United States and Europe.
