Islands Share Opening Track From Fresh Album And That’s Why Dolphins Lost Their Legs With “Life’s a Joke” Single And Music Video

Islands announced an upcoming album And That’s Why Dolphins Lost Their Legs and now we have our first taste of what’s to come with the debut single Life’s a Joke. The new album is due out on August 25th, 2023 through ELF. The indie pop group continues to build off of their 2021 release Insomnia.

The new song Life’s a Joke is audibly one with a light heart that hearkens back to Nick Thorburn’s work with The Unicorns. The rather fun and experimental airy sonic composition of the song is contrasted with somewhat heavy lyrical content often veering into themes of nihilism- making for a fantastic listen.
