Animal Collective Delivers Twenty-Two Minute Epic “Defeat”

Baltimore’s experimental pop outfit Animal Collective released a twenty-two minute piece titled Defeat on June 26th, 2023 to their bandcamp and other streaming platforms. The piece is laden with careful orchestration and restful harmonies of redemption. The new work is notably produced by grammy award winning Russell Elevado and is out through Domino.

The release comes after their November, 2022 work and release of The Inspection, an original motion picture soundtrack. Notably the group also released their last full length Time Skiffs in 2022 as well. Defeat is sure to impress new and old fans alike as a captivating experience. The release is available for download and as a 12″ limited edition vinyl with a b-side of The Challenge (Live Edit) on Animal Collective’s bandcamp. The stunning artwork featured on the release was done by Lauren Luloff.
